Competition for Can Tabs
We want the students at Bourg School to learn to participate in worthwhile causes that benefit those who are in need at specific times in their lives. We have joined in with people across Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes to collect aluminum can tabs to assist a 3 year old boy, Keith, who is fighting a battle with Leukemia. Please send in all can tabs in quart size zip-lock bags labeled with your child’s name and teacher’s name on them. The 5 students who bring in the most tabs by the Wednesday (Feb. 22nd) before Mardi Gras break will be invited to participate as crew members in the Pre-K parade on the 24th! Each time a child brings in a full quart size bag of tabs, his/her name will be put in a drawing to be invited to be the Grand Marshall of the Pre-K parade. All 6 of these students will be provided with wagons and throws for the parade!
Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Louise Lugibihl has been named Bourg School's Teacher of the Year for the 2017-18 school year. Mrs. Lugibihl teachers third grade. We are proud of Mrs. Lugibihl. Congratulations!
The faculty and staff of Bourg Elementary School have embraced a growth mindset to ensure all students have the opportunity to improve academically. We will enhance academic performance by using current data to provide students with engaging and rigorous lessons through a standards-based curriculum. This will lead to students’ academic and behavioral growth by preparing them for each stage that will lead to college and/or career readiness.
